PepsiCo , a leading food and beverage company, launched the second season of Planet Love in April of this year , a seven-episode docuseries produced by National Geographic CreativeWorks that sought to inspire people to contribute towards a more sustainable world. Now, PepsiCo invites the Latin American public to take action for the Planet through ReciclatON : a series of simultaneous recycling events in seven countries. ReciclatON will take place on November 11 with virtual and in-person initiatives in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico and Peru. Through this series of events, PepsiCo encourages people to adopt the habit of recycling in their daily routines for the benefit of the Planet and the people who live on it. «At PepsiCo, our commitment is to create a world where plastics never become waste. Through ReciclatON, we want to inspire people throughout the region to take action for the Planet, creating recycling habits in their daily lives to create a circular economy," said Enrique Cortinas, director of Strategy, Transformation and pep + of PepsiCo Beverages Latin America .
The circular economy of plastics has positive environmental impacts that we must all promote. For example, it has the potential to reduce plastic pollution by 80%, reduce Greenhouse Gas emissions by 25%, and generate 700,000 jobs . Recycling means, therefore, taking action for our Planet and our communities. A circular economy is one that seeks to eliminate the generation of waste by Belgium Email List considering each stage in the life of a product, before and after being purchased by the consumer. In the case of plastics, a circular economy involves eliminating unnecessary use of the material, ensuring that the material used is correctly recycled and, finally, reinserting the segregated plastics into the production process . Planet Love's RecyclatON seeks to encourage people to take the first step on this path. To encourage greater participation in ReciclatON, one participant from each country will have the opportunity to win a sustainable experience in their country of residence with a companion.
To access this benefit, people must follow the following steps: Locate the nearest recycling point. The initiative's website has an interactive map in order to help in this task. Take your usable plastic waste to the selected recycling station on November 11. Capture the moment through a photo and/or video. Post the content on your Instagram account with #ReciclatONxPlanetLove and tagging the PepsiCo account in your location. In 2021, PepsiCo introduced pep+ (Positive PepsiCo), a strategic transformation across the company's value chain with sustainability at the heart of creating growth and value, inspiring positive change for communities and the Planet. PepsiCo's plastics vision focuses on three main pillars: reinventing the company's plastic packaging so that 100% of its packaging is recyclable, compostable or biodegradable by 2025; reduce virgin plastic per serving by 50% across its entire product portfolio by 2030; and use 50% recycled content in its plastic packaging by 2030.
